Spanish In Vancouver began through a dedicated passion for the Spanish language. Mistaken for a native Latin American, Spanish In Vancouver founder Kate Pattison has extensive academic and travel experience in the Spanish-speaking world.

With a completed a BA and MA in Hispanic Studies and extensive travel experience throughout most of Latin America and parts of Spain, Kate possesses expert knowledge of regional nuances and cultural differences. Kate excels as a detailed-oriented translator and an effective interpreter. She is also a passionate flamenco dancer who performs and shares her passion on a regular basis.

Canadian raised and educated, Kate has integrated herself with the local Spanish-Speaking community here in Vancouver with an extensive history of working with groups such Mamá Ganso, Latincouver, The Canadian Council for the Americas BC (Former Board Member & Chief Communications Officer), Storefront Orientation Services (Volunteer), & Acento Latino TV/SHAW Multicultural Channel (Former Program Host).

Spanish In Vancouver nació de una pasión dedicada al español. Muchas veces percibida como latinoamericana nativa, la fundadora de Spanish In Vancouver, Kate Pattison tiene amplia experiencia a través de su trayectoria académica, su conocimiento y experiencias vividos el mundo hispanohablante.

Con una Licenciatura en Bellas Artes y una Maestría en Humanidades con enfoque de Estudios Hispanos y extensa experiencia viajando por el mundo hispano, Kate posee mayor conocimiento de los matices regionales y culturales.  Kate se destaca como una traductora precisa y una intérprete efectiva. Además, es una apasionada bailaora de flamenco que comparte su afición regularmente en actuaciones en Vancouver.

Criada y educada en Canadá, Kate se ha integrado a la comunidad hispanohablante local de Vancouver y cuenta con una extensa historia de trabajar con los siguientes grupos: Mamá Ganso, Latincouver, The Canadian Council for the Americas, BC (Ex miembro de la Junta Directiva & Directora Ejecutiva de Comunicaciones, Storefront Orientation Services (voluntaria) y Acento Latino TV/SHAW Multicultural Channel (Ex Presentadora de televisión).
